Blocking a buyer

What blocking does

A block covers all of your listings — past, present and future — and stays in place until you remove it. If you sell as a dealer, it covers your whole dealership, not just your own account.

• They can't start a new conversation with you.
• Existing conversations stop in both directions — you won't be able to message them either.
• They can't bid or Buy now on any of your listings.
• They can still see your listings and save them to a watchlist, and your past messages stay readable.
• Bids placed before you blocked them still stand.

How to block someone

1. Open a conversation with them, or find them in the bid history on your own auction listing.
2. Tap their name or photo to open their profile.
3. Choose “Block this buyer”.
4. Confirm — the block takes effect immediately.

What the other person sees

We never tell someone they've been blocked. If they try to message you, they'll see “The seller isn't accepting messages from you.” or “You can no longer message this seller.”; if they try to bid or Buy now, the action is stopped.

Unblocking someone

Blocks are permanent until you remove them — they never expire on their own.

1. Go to Settings in your account.
2. Open Blocked buyers.
3. Choose Unblock and confirm.

If you've been blocked

You'll see one of the messages above when you try to message or bid. Blocking is a seller's prerogative, and there's no way around it on NewRide — if you think a listing or seller has other problems, report those separately through Disputes and reports.
